Students at Cape Hatteras Elementary School got a picture of life as a photographer from Dennis Keim of dK-studio. Mr. Keim, a nationally recognized corporate and editorial photographer, visited CHES and shared his experiences and talents with 4th and 5th grade students. He also shared highlights from his career in aerospace and underwater photojournalism when he worked for NASA. He spoke of how his passion for photography has lead him to places all over the world. He highligted for our students the art and technology career field that they can have right here on beautiful Hatteras Island.
Mr. Keim encouraged students to “follow your dreams and never give up on the things you enjoy. Stay in school and learn all you can. For some day you may find yourself making a living off of the very thing your love and using what you learned in school to be good at it.” Mr Keim inspired and taught students to look for natural beauty of this barrier island and to kindle the talent we all have within ourselves.
