Cape Hatteras Secondary School

Welcome to Cape Hatteras Elementary School. CHES invites our

parents and community members to join us in fostering a culture

of caring and inspiring our children to new heights for a fulfilling life

in the 21st Century.

As we learn from and build on our successes, CHES continues to

use school improvement goals to challenge our students. Our

goals also address the changes Hatteras Island is experiencing

in our population, our economy, and our landscape.

We have an outstanding staff of nurturing, devoted teachers.

One hundred percent are fully certified and are recognized as

highly qualified.

Our mission is to provide a safe, stimulating learning environment

which will encourage students to pursue knowledge throughout

their lifetimes. We accept the responsibility to teach all students

and to offer opportunities to achieve the highest possible

standards. As a result, our students receive the best instruction

and excel in academics.

achievements. I am proud of all of our students and their

progress. As we celebrate our accomplishments, we

acknowledge the dedication and contributions of our staff,

parents, community members, and business partners. We look
